Legion X – Equestris. Part 2.
Roman Legions conduct a brutal war for their Emperor, Gaius Julius Caesar.
The time of Ancient Rome was a period of expansionism and bloody domination. Gaius Julius Caesar, was a master at subjugating Rome’s enemies and increasing the Roman Empire’s borders. Julius Caeser’s Legions conquered foe after foe, killing thousands. Bloody battles, that I will bring to life for you to read.
But I ask for your support to bring this trilogy to life….. I have launched this project via Kickstarter, the link can be seen below.
Julius Caesar – Roman Emperor 100-44 BC
In Gaul, Caesar took over 800 cities and towns by storm, subdued 300 tribes, and in successive pitched battles against a total of 3,000,000 men he killed 1,000,000 and took the same number prisoners – Plutarch AD 45-120
I am also very fortunate to have commissioned a superb Historical Illustrator to illustrate my book covers.
Matthew’s work continues as he explores the various poses, uniforms, formations of the frontline of a Roman legion in battle formation.
Matthew starts off with line drawings.
Getting a feel for the character and the battle position he is in.
These are just rough sketches (Matthew will tell me off for using that word). Once he is satisfied, they will be included in the main illustration.
Once the drawings are complete and to his satisfaction, the colouring will begin. The triptych is designed to provide the covers for the three books in the trilogy.
The detail is amazing. I am privileged to be working with such a talented Historical Artist/Illustrator.
For all those of you that have already read my WW2, Cold War, Apocalyptic and Modern War series, your support, as ever, would be appreciated.
